YouTube Music Releases Redesign with New Comments Section
YouTube Music has unveiled an exciting redesign of its Now Playing feature for Android and iOS users. The update introduces a much-awaited comments section, allowing music enthusiasts to read, create, and engage with comments on songs, videos, and podcast episodes.
Following the recent launch of real-time lyrics, this latest redesign aims to enhance user experience by providing additional interactive features. The most noticeable change is the larger cover art, now featuring rounded corners and occupying a higher position on the page. Moreover, the song and artist names are now left-aligned, contributing to a more streamlined layout.
In terms of aesthetics, YouTube Music has opted for a white-themed play/pause button and Song/Video switcher, replacing the previous design. To facilitate easier access to various actions, a carousel has been added. This carousel features pill-shaped buttons for thumbs up/down, comments, Save, Share, Download, and Radio. By placing these buttons at the forefront, YouTube Music ensures a seamless user experience, without the need to tap on the artwork to uncover hidden actions.
To optimize convenience and reach, the redesign places additional controls at the bottom of the Now Playing feature. This modification aims to improve accessibility, allowing users to effortlessly navigate through their music preferences. At the same time, other options are conveniently located in the overflow menu.
One of the most significant additions to the redesign is the capability to read and write comments. Previously, YouTube Music limited the social aspect of its platform to playlists. However, this new feature introduces a panel that slides up from the bottom, encouraging social interaction and providing a space for users to express their thoughts and opinions.
The rollout of the Now Playing redesign with comments has already commenced for YouTube Music on Android and iOS. Nevertheless, it may take some time for the update to become available on all devices. Users can expect the new features to greatly enhance their YouTube Music experience, making it even more engaging and interactive.
