Larian Studios’ popular RPG game, Baldur’s Gate 3, was honored with the prestigious Game of the Year award at The Game Awards. To make the celebration even better, the game also made its grand debut on Xbox consoles.
In an unexpected move, the tabletop-inspired RPG was stealthily dropped onto Xbox Series X/S immediately after the award show. However, the Larian Studios team faced several challenges while porting the game onto Xbox, particularly with the split-screen co-op feature on the Series S console.
Despite the hurdles, Larian Studios promised a December release for the Xbox version, and they kept their word by making the game available on the Xbox Store right after The Game Awards. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been making waves in the gaming world, with an impressive 1.3 million players completing the game in just four months.
The statistics surrounding Baldur’s Gate 3 are mind-boggling. Players have spent a staggering total of 8,196 years in the character creator, a testament to the game’s immersive and detailed customization options. In addition, players have conversed with over 113 million virtual corpses and unleashed a whopping 84 million fireballs.
One interesting fact that stands out is that 66 percent of players chose to keep their characters in human form during a unique sex scene involving a bear-transforming druid. This showcases the game’s ability to appeal to different player preferences and offer diverse choices.
Moreover, Larian Studios has been diligently working on improving the game since its release. A significant patch was released on November 3, introducing new game modes, an epilogue, new recruitment methods, and even newly implemented “dick physics,” which has piqued the curiosity of players and garnered attention in the gaming community.
With Baldur’s Gate 3 winning Game of the Year and making its debut on Xbox, it is clear that Larian Studios has achieved remarkable success. Players and fans eagerly await the future updates and improvements that the studio will continue to bring to this captivating RPG experience.
