Apple has just announced the release of new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models with OLED displays. These devices support refresh rates as low as 10Hz, however, they lack an always-on display option like the iPhone and Apple Watch.
The iPad Pro has supported ProMotion since 2017, but the new models now use low-power LTPO technology. Despite the upgrades, battery life remains unchanged overall compared to the previous generation.
Similar to the iPhone 13 Pro models, the iPad Pro is unlikely to get the always-on display option until it supports a 1Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 14 Pro models recently introduced this feature, giving hope to iPad Pro users in the future.
One of the standout features of the new iPad Pro models is the tandem OLED technology, which increases brightness. These models can achieve up to 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness for SDR content.
The new iPad Pro models are available to order starting today and will launch on Wednesday, May 15th. With these advancements in display technology, Apple continues to push the boundaries of innovation in their products. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting new releases.
