In a tragic turn of events, Shakeira Yvonne Rucker, a missing Florida woman, was found dead in a storage unit belonging to her estranged husband, Cory Hill. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating Rucker’s case as a homicide.
Rucker’s lifeless body was discovered in a storage unit at Self Storage on Wiggins Road in Apopka. Authorities have determined that she died from apparent gunshot wounds. Hill, who is the prime suspect in the case, has not been cooperative with the investigation.
Currently, a full autopsy is underway to determine the exact cause of Rucker’s death. At this time, no motive for the murder has been announced by law enforcement officials. However, it is worth noting that Hill is already in Orange County Jail on charges of four counts of attempted homicide.
Prior to Rucker’s tragic demise, Hill was involved in a separate incident where he had fired shots at a former girlfriend and her family. This incident took place before Rucker was reported missing on November 11. It was believed by Rucker’s family that she had been with Hill during her disappearance.
The Winter Springs Police Chief expressed relief that there is some closure for Rucker’s grieving family. This development comes after multiple law enforcement agencies worked diligently across four counties to search for Rucker.
As the investigation continues to unfold, it is our hope that justice will be served and the true motive behind Rucker’s untimely death will be uncovered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rucker’s loved ones during this difficult time.
